When is the library closing?
The library will be closed from Wednesday, January 2nd
2013.
When is the library re-opening?
We will re-open at 199 Park Road Extension at 10 am on
Tuesday, January 22nd 2013. Driving directions can be found here.
Will the library’s
contact information change?
Our telephone number at Park Road Extension will be the same
as Crest Road 203 758 2634. Mail can
still be sent to 30 Crest Road.
Why does the library
need to close?
All areas of the building will be impacted by construction
and/or reconfiguration. It makes good economical sense to close the building
for the safety of our patrons and to expedite the project.
Where can I return my
library materials?
The drop box at Crest Road will be in operation until
January 22nd, after which time it will not be available for any returns. A drop
box will be installed at Park Road Extension and should be operational on Tuesday,
January 22nd. For your convenience, library materials may be
returned to other libraries. If you are able to select Woodbury, Southbury or
Howard Whittemore (Naugatuck) libraries, it would be advantageous to us for
organizational reasons.
Will I be able to
renew online?
Online renewals will operate as normal. Other libraries may
be contacted for renewals by phone.
How will library
fines be applied?
Library fines will be forgiven for the month of January. If returning
or renewing material is difficult for you due to weather or other
circumstances, please feel free to return them when it is convenient for you
during the month of January.
What will happen to
materials that I had on the holds cart at Crest Road?
We called all patrons to advise them to pick up their holds
by January 31st. Unfortunately, any material not checked out will be
returned to its home library. Your online account will indicate the status of your holds.
Will I still be able
to request material online?
Your account will operate as normal and holds may be placed.
We advise you to select another local library that is convenient for you as
your temporary pick up library until we re-open.

What will the hours
of operation be at Park Rd Ext?
The hours of operation will not change, and are as follows:

Which library
materials will be moved to the temporary building?
The majority of our materials will be moved including
newspapers, magazines, DVDs, audiobooks, children’s materials and books.

resume?
Our aim is to resume programming in March. Please refer to

Am I still able to
make donations of books to the Friends of the Library?
We are not accepting book donations at this
